Blue Fields

Blue Fields is an incidental music piece from the video game Final Fantasy VIII (for PlayStation). It is played during the overworld scenes of the game.

There already is a piano arrangement in the Piano Collections anthology, but I wanted to see if it was possible to do a high-fidelity piano arrangement based on the OST. Tricky things in this arrangement:

The left hand part (mimicking the pizzicato strings) often overlaps with the melody notes. Melody notes are given to the hand that is freest at the time (usually the right hand).

The woodwind countermelodies starting at 0:28 are not transcribed exactly due to excessive overlapping and dissonance, but the general shape of the motif has been kept.
